Hot Springs in the Desert

This month’s adventure with the Photographers Adventure Club was visiting a hot springs. Rogers Spring is about an hour east of Las Vegas. A few club members met there about 5pm on a Saturday night. Saturday night?!?! Yes, because we’re geeks like that. Naaahhh.  Actually, it was because national parks offered a free entry that day in honor of National Public Lands Day.

Everyone that joined today I met for the first time. Some had been shooting for awhile and some fresh new photographers. A younger girl, Kayla, just started that day. She wants to get into event photography. She was so cool and very eager to learn. Thankfully we had knowledgeable folks there to share their expertise.

A few people stopped by the springs while we were there. When they just started getting into the springs, I asked if it was hot. Why didn’t I just feel for myself that whole time I was there, I’ll never know. Perhaps I would melt, who knows. I asked if they mind if I could take photos of them. They are the ones you see in the water, kissing, and hiking up the big ass mountain. Another thing I forgot was to ask their names and if if they were from Vegas or not. As the sun was setting, the moon appeared so large and clear. It was beautiful against the sun kissed mountains. (My inner wanna-be writer coming out, eh? eh?) With the California Fan Palms, it felt like such an oasis.

And all the roads that lead you there were winding
And all the lights that light the way are blinding
There are many things that I would like to say to you
But I don’t know how
