Photo Shoot for Las Vegas Runners

Well… not every shoot can go as well as you’d like.  My running group, Las Vegas Runners, needs new photos for their new website to launch this year. The organizers and coaches, Melissa and Jeremy, wanted fresh photos. They also thought it would be fun, as I did too, to open it up to the club so we could get group photos. Also, folks could get individual shots if they were interested.  I joked at the shoot that this might one of the few times they could be ready for a picture and not get a poopy runner’s face photo.

I had envisioned a particular look and even began using a creative book to sketch out my ideal shots. It was so freaking hot! To ask these folks to run as much as I would have liked, would have been cruel. We got the required shots and booked it out of there to have lunch. During the shoot, I was having a hard time technically with my camera.  I felt the pressure of just moving it along and while nobody was actually pressuring me, that feeling affected how my shots turned out. I didn’t improvise or adjust during the shoot and I should have.  I’m also a very impatient person. Photo shoots are surly going to teach me a little bit about slowing down and having patience. I managed to get some usable shots, but not nearly as many as I had liked.
The fun thing about this shoot were the people. My fellow runners. They are such a happy bunch of people and so dedicated to their running. I hope they enjoy their photos.

Can’t wait until next time!!
